The XP Glide boasts excellent weather and thermal performance with the slender 20 mm sight line without question it’s key feature as the door combines large glass areas with the smallest possible sightlines. The boxed outer frame is neat and tidy and completely concealed with tread plates if only the master door slides.

The lift and slide system is perfect for twin track 2 panel sliding doors. The product offers superb value and the lift and slide functionality is perfect for homeowners with young children, homeowners who would otherwise struggle to slide a heavy glass door, plus the added benefit of being to secure the door in any position, whether that’s for ventilation or because children are playing in and around the doors.

DESIGN & ENGINEERING

The interlock is structurally bonded on site during the installation phase, which allows us to create really sim sightlines of just 20mm. Despite the slender sightlines the lift and slide system is highly robust, with impressive IX values and excellent thermal efficiency that can achieve overall U values as low as 1.4 W/ m2K.

The lift and slide mechanism also enables you to lock the door in any position. As the door lifts onto the ball bearings, the quality of the system minimises the weight, meaning that a double -glazed unit weighing up to 250kg can be easily slid to one side.

Twin Track Opening Configurations

A twin track system offers two panels that create two large picture windows with just a minimal sightline of 20mm separating the two panels of glass. Typically, one panel is fixed while the other will slide back & forth to create a 50% clear opening.

The lift and slide version has a large handle that is rotated to elevated and slide the door, and rotated the opposite way to secure the door in any position whether it is open or closed.

Both options are available with all panels sliding if preferred.

We know that you’ll get a lot of use out of your doors, so we’ve made sure that every project is installed with a flush bottom track, so you don’t have to worry about little ones tripping up. It looks much more aesthetically pleasing without the unsightly upstand too.

TOUGH LOCKS

SECURITY LOCK BARREL CYLINDERS AS STANDARD

We know that it’s important that your external sliding doors are as secure as they are stylish, which is why we use premium 3-star diamond-rated BSI cylinders throughout our door range. Anti-snap, anti-drill, anti-pick and anti-bump, these lock cylinders we use exceed the 2-star standard required for Secured by Design accreditation.

We supply these cylinders in doors with half a barrel, so our sliding doors are just as secure from the inside as the outside. Put your mind at ease with our secure sliding doors.

The keys for our sliding doors can be cut at any locksmith, unlike other Secured by Design standard lock barrels which need a specific lock card to have spare or emergency keys cut. The lock barrels themselves are supplied by one of the world’s leading manufacturers of lock cylinders, perfectly complementing our industry leading range of products.

Are the doors delivered built up or in kit form?

Due to how the doors need to be installed it is not possible to deliver them built up so they will arrive in a kit form.
We will provide detailed instructions as the product has been fully fabricated but the outer frame will need assembling and installing level & plumb before installing the panels & then glass.

Can one person install the doors?

One person can install a small door but we would recommend two people working together to complete the installation.

Can I order the door with a cill

Yes, we haven't included a cill on the configurator because the door sit on an intelligent drainage packer which drains water out and away from the bottom track but you can request a cill when ordering and we'll provide one for a nominal extra costs.

Do you provide installation intructions?

Yes, we provide detailed installation instructions & our technical team are available by phone & by e-mail should have you any questions or issues.

What if there is a problem with the product?

We should be able to tell my photos & description if there is a problem with a product. If we think there is an issue with the installation we can attend site but there will be a call our charge. If upon attending site we find there to be a problem with the product and not the installation we will refund the call out charge.

Will you install the doors for me?

No, Express Bifolds Direct is an online Company selling set sizes on supply only basis.

All our products are manufactured in our Head Office site in Leeds & we deliver ourselves through no third party all over mainland UK.
