KEY POINTS TO REMEMBER
Bi-folding doors are easy to use when you’re showed how, below are some key points to remember and it’s always worth passing these on to guests in your home to avoid any accidental damage or misuse.
Keep all mechanical moving parts lubricated regularly. This includes hinges, multipoint locks, handles, the steel rollers in the bottom track and guide runners in the top track.
Lubricate using silicone spray or grease and wipe away any excess with a non-abrasive cloth, do not use WD40.
We also recommend that you fully open your doors at least once a month. This ensures all moving parts are lubricated and prevents any settlement within the products over the winter months.

Clear the doors bottom tracks in our bi-fold or sliding doors of any debris and do not allow debris to build up in the track as this will affect the operation of the door. A build-up of debris can lead to a block in the drainage, causing water to come into the property. Use a small brush to loosen any debris from the track and use a vacuum cleaner with a thin attachment to collect.

Use a light, soapy solution and a non-abrasive cloth to wipe dirt from the windows & doors. Avoid using an abrasive cloth such as a scouring pad as the windows and doors could scratch. Never use washing up liquid, solvent based cleaning products or white spirit. In salt water environments, the external surface of the windows and doors should be washed down with fresh water on a weekly basis as it is common for salt deposits to build up.
To keep gasket seals clean use a light, soapy solution and non-abrasive cloth to gently clean the seals & do not use solvent-based cleaning products.

Remember to always be careful not to trap your fingers in the doors. Only use the handle to open and lock the door in place. Limit using the handle to slide the door and instead use the motion of the door panel to control its operation at all times. Ensure the doors do not slam into the side jam when sliding closed.
